Gamma Knife® PerfexionTM
A non-invasive alternative to conventional brain surgery

Gamma Knife® surgery is recognized as the preferred treatment for brain tumors, arteriovenous malformations and brain dysfunctions such as trigeminal neuralgia. Our Gamma Knife—one of the few in Florida—isn’t really a knife at all. Instead, a set of micro-precision radiation beams are designed to attack only the tumor and leave surrounding healthy tissue intact. Gamma Knife surgery represents a major advance in brain surgery. The benefits of the Gamma
Knife include:
  • A completely noninvasive procedure
  • No blades
  • No incisions
  • Patients experience little discomfort
  • No bleeding
  • No anesthesia needed

The Gamma Knife is designed to eliminate the days of hospitalization and weeks of rehabilitation—as well as many of the risks—of conventional surgery. In some cases it may also enable the treatment of otherwise inaccessible tumors.
